Officer charged in Alice Springs 23 June

A Northern Territory Police Officer has been arrested and charged for alleged offences committed in May 2021. The conduct does not directly relate to his duties.

The 44-year-old officer has been charged with:

  • 2 x Aggravated assault
  • 1 x Fail to provide secure storage of ammunition.

The officer has been bailed to appear in Alice Springs Local Court on 20 July 2021.

The officer has been suspended from duty and the matter is under investigation by the Professional Standards Command.

As the matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.
