Officer charged - Western Region 30 November

A police officer will appear in court next year charged over alleged firearms offences.

Just after 2pm today (Monday 30 November 2020), the 34-year-old male senior constable – attached to a command in the Western Region – attended Lithgow Police Station as a result of a search warrant executed at his home yesterday (Sunday 29 November 2020).

The officer was issued a Court Attendance Notice for seven offences; possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, not keep firearm safely-prohibited firearm, possess unregistered firearm-prohibited firearm, acquire unregistered firearm-prohibited firearm, acquire firearm no licence or permit-prohibited firearm, acquire firearm no permit to acquire-prohibited firearm, and Holder of Category A or B licence not have approved storage.

He is due to appear at Bathurst Local Court on Monday 25 January 2020.
