Oh what a feeling - Montmorency teen to be reunited with stolen Toyota Corolla

Detectives from Banyule Crime Investigation Unit will reunite a teenager with his beloved first car after public assistance helped to track down the stolen vehicle.

The 1979 Toyota Corolla sedan was stolen from outside an address on Sherburne Road, Montmorency sometime between 4 and 6am on Tuesday 27 October.

Investigators released an image of the car in the hope someone could provide information on its whereabouts.

After a tip off from a member of the public the vehicle was located abandoned in the Eltham area.

The vehicle had only recently been purchased by a 17-year-old boy who has intensions to do up the car while learning to drive.

Police are still trying to track down the offender and continue to appeal for anyone with information on the theft to come forward.
