Queenslanders feeling the pinch from the rising costs-of-living can now seamlessly access billions of dollars of concession and rebate savings via updated Smart Savings website.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said easing the cost-of-living for our most vulnerable Queenslanders is a top priority for the government.
"We know Queensland households, like those in economies around the world, are facing cost of living pressures," the Premier said.
"It's due to things like flooding and natural disasters, international conflict and rises to fuel prices, ongoing effects of the pandemic, impacts to supply chains and inflation and interest rate rises.
"Queensland is not immune to these headwinds.
"We know how tough some families are doing at the moment and just how important it is to help ease the pressures on households and that's why we are delivering $6.8 billion in concessions for Queenslanders this financial year.
"And now we are making it even easier to access these concessions and rebates with a new and improved Smart Savings website.
"Queenslanders now only need to answer a few simple questions via the website to identity a list of potential savings they may be eligible to receive."
Minister for Communities and Housing, Leeanne Enoch said it's important for Queenslanders to remember help is at hand and encouraged people to visit the Smart Savings website to check their eligibility for concessions and rebates.
"Hundreds of thousands of Queenslanders may be eligible for assistance with day-to-day living costs including energy, water, rates, transport, health, education, training and housing," she said.
"The improved search functionality of the Smart Savings website makes it easier to access tailored concession and rebate information without having to go to multiple web pages to find what you're looking for.
"For instance, there is assistance for Queensland seniors to be able to apply for up to five government concessions in one easy process and people with a disability can apply for repairs and maintenance that will help keep them in their homes longer.
"There is assistance for Queenslanders wanting to retrain and get a new qualification to help find work
"There's assistance for Queenslanders who need help to pay for a pair of basic prescription spectacles, once every two years.
"Eligible Queenslanders can also apply for dental care support and a range of medical aids and equipment, such as, mobility aids, artificial limbs or vehicle modifications.
The Smart Savings website is easily available on desktop, smartphones and other smart devices. People who prefer talking to someone can also ring 13QGOV for over-the-phone assistance.
