Police appeal after man carjacked at gunpoint - Bossley Park

Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was carjacked at gunpoint in Sydney's south-west overnight.

About 11.30pm (Tuesday 6 December 2022), police have been told a 29-year-old man was driving on Prairie Vale Road, Bossley Park, when he came to a stop to turn left onto Cowpasture Road.

While stopped, two men approached the driver's side door and demanded the 29-year-old man exit the vehicle.

Police will allege when he refused to get out of the car – a Mazda 3 sedan – one of the men opened the passenger's side door and produced a firearm towards him.

He exited the Mazda sedan before the two men jumped in the vehicle and drove away.

The 29-year-old man managed to flag down another car and contact police.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As part of their inquiries, they would like to speak to two men who may be able to assist investigators.

One man has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 170-175cm tall, of thin build, with brown short hair and wearing an earring.

The second man was described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 170-175cm tall, and of slim build.

Investigators are also keen for anyone with dashcam footage or any further information to come forward.
