Police arrest five teens in stolen car at Pascoe Vale South

Police have arrested five teenagers after they were caught travelling in an allegedly stolen vehicle across Melbourne's north this morning.

An unmarked police vehicle observed a stolen white Toyota Hilux travelling along Brunswick Street, Fitzroy about 12.30am.

Officers followed the car towards the Preston area before another unit successfully deployed stop sticks at the intersection of Bell Street and Cumberland Road in Pascoe Vale South.

Police activated their lights and sirens, but the driver continued on with three deflated tyres and entered the Tullamarine Freeway.

The car was allegedly travelling between 5-10km/h before coming to a stop on the Moreland road off ramp.

Police quickly arrested five teenagers in the car including:

• A 14-year-old Epsom boy

• A 15-year-old Fitzroy boy

• A 16-year-old Long Gully boy

• Two 15-year-old Long Gully girls

All are currently assisting police with enquiries.

Police will allege the Toyota Hilux was stolen from a Thornbury address yesterday.
