A man will face court today after an alleged home invasion in the state's Central Tablelands over the weekend.
Officers attached to Chifley Police District were called to a residence at Mort Street, Lithgow, about 11.40pm yesterday (Sunday 31 May 2026) after reports of a home invasion.
Police arrived and were told a man had allegedly forced entry into the home and intimidated the residents, before leaving the property.
One of the male residents of the home reportedly followed the man outside where an altercation between the two ensued, before a dog from the residence bit the alleged offender on both arms.
Following inquiries, police located a 42-year-old man in Bent Street, Lithgow, shortly after.
The man was subject to a search, with police allegedly locating and seizing 1.28 grams of cannabis and 0.27 grams of methylamphetamine.
The man was taken by NSW ambulance paramedics to Lithgow Hospital with arm and facial injuries.
He was then arrested and taken to Lithgow Police Station, where he was charged with,
- Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal) (three counts)
- Possess prohibited drug (two counts)
- Aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence
- Common assault.
He was refused bail to face Bail Division Court 4 today (Monday 1 June 2026).
