Police charge man with drug offences after ute stopped at Cobar

A man will appear in court today charged with drug-related offences following a vehicle stop in the state's Central West last month.

About 9.15am on Wednesday 28 October 2020, officers attached to Central North Police District stopped a grey Ford utility travelling on Belagoy Street at Cobar.

The driver, a 27-year-old man, was subjected to a roadside drug test, which returned a positive result.

During a search of the vehicle, police seized cash and cannabis.

The man was arrested and taken to Cobar Police Station for the purpose of a secondary drug test, which allegedly returned a positive result.

He was charged with supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug and drive vehicle, illicit drug present in blood.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Cobar Local Court today (Wednesday 25 November 2020).
