Police charge man with sexual assault offences

On 20 May 2021, Sex Assault Squad detectives charged a 19-year-old man as a result of an ongoing investigation into alleged sexual assaults.

It is alleged between December 2020 and January 2021, the man sexually and physically assaulted an 18-year-old woman. The man met the woman through a work colleague.

The man from Carramar has been charged with:-

• Three counts of Sexual Penetration without Consent;

• Three counts of Impeded another Person's Normal Breathing or Blood Circulation by Applying Pressure to Neck (Non-fatal strangulation); and

• One count of Without Consent Distributed an Intimate Image of Another Person.

He is next due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court on 14 July 2021.
