Police investigate serious assault at Kununurra

Kununurra Detectives are seeking information regarding an incident in Kununurra on Thursday night / Friday morning 29/30 October 2020, in which a man received serious injuries.
About 12:15am on the Friday morning Police were called by a member of the public who saw a man walking on Miniata Street calling out for help. Information was also provided that suggested the man may have a serious injury.
Police attended and located the 33-year-old injured man on Woollybutt Place. He had a serious laceration injury to his head. St John Ambulance attended the scene and took the man to Kununurra District Hospital for treatment to his injury.
It is believed the injured man had been involved in a physical altercation with a group of men somewhere in the vicinity of Erythnia Street and Weaber Plain Road, sometime late on the Thursday night. The exact time is not known, but is believed to be close to midnight.
Police are seeking CCTV in the area which either captures the victim, who was wearing red shorts and no shirt, or the group of men.
