Police investigating after pharmacy robbery at Griffith

Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a Griffith pharmacy overnight.

About 6pm (Tuesday 23 June 2020), an unknown man attended the rear entrance of a pharmacy on Banna Avenue, Griffith, as staff were preparing to close the store for the day.

It's alleged he produced a firearm before demanding medication from a female employee.

The man followed the female employee to a safe located inside the store and took numerous controlled medications, before fleeing on foot along Banna Lane.

Officers from Murrumbidgee Police District arrived at the scene shortly after and established a crime scene.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

As inquiries continue, detectives would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, approximately 175cm tall with a muscular build and was wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
