Police lay charges after man's death at Kempsey

A man will face court today charged with murder following the death of another man on the Mid North Coast yesterday.

Just after 6.30pm (Wednesday 27 May 2020), police were called to a home on Stewart Place, Euroka, near Kempsey, following reports of a man armed with a firearm.

Officers from Mid North Coast Police District attended and established a perimeter.

A man, armed with a firearm, walked out of the home just after 8.30pm and was arrested without incident.

The occupant, a 63-year-old man, was found fatally injured inside the home and a crime scene has been

established.

The 46-year-old man was taken to Kempsey Police Station and charged with murder.

He has been refused bail to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court today (Thursday 28 May 2020).

The men are known to each other and inquiries are continuing.
