Police make arrest - Domestic Violence -Tennant Creek

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 26-year-old man in relation to a domestic violence incident at Tennant Creek.

Around 11:00pm last Friday the man was involved in an altercation with his father before allegedly assaulting his partner with a blunt weapon.

Since Friday, multiple attempts were made to locate the offender; however, he was actively avoiding police.

Yesterday the man was located and arrested and has been charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Engage in Conduct that Contravenes DVO

Senior Sergeant Tony Delamere said "After extensive efforts by Police, the offender has been arrested and will face court today.

"Domestic and family violence has no place in our communities and police will continue to crack down on this reprehensible behaviour."
