Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Edmonton 19 December

A man and a boy have died following a two-vehicle traffic crash at Edmonton last night.

At 10pm, two off-road bikes were travelling in opposite directions on Mount Peter Road when they collided near the intersection with Mackillop Road.

The red Honda, which was travelling north, was ridden by a 28-year-old man who died at the scene. His 17-year-old male passenger was also declared deceased at the scene.

A 21-year-old man who was riding the yellow Suzuki motorbike travelling south, was taken to Cairns Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident.
