Police seek information on Unconfirmed air incident at Humpty Doo

Late on Sunday afternoon Police received a report from a member of the public who believed they had seen an aircraft in distress over the Humpty Doo area.

Police, NT Fire and Rescue Service and St John Ambulance were stood up. Ground patrols commenced to locate the site of the reported incident.

Drones were deployed in the area to assist the search, however no site has been located.

Police identified an ultralight aircraft and two motorised parachutists active in the area at the time; they have been accounted for and excluded from any concerns for welfare.

At this stage, Police have been unable to substantiate the report and enquiries are continuing.
