Police Update: Fatal Hit And Run Charges At Bundaberg

Police have charged a 21-year-old Norville man following an alleged fatal hit and run traffic crash in Bundaberg on April 29.

Around 7.50pm, a cyclist was travelling on Takalvan Street through Millbank when he was allegedly struck by a black Hyundai IX35.

The Hyundai allegedly fled the scene and was located a short time later.

The cyclist, a 34-year-old Bundaberg Central man, died at the scene.

Following investigations, police arrested a 21-year-old man in Bundaberg West this afternoon.

The 21-year-old Norville man has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death.

His police bail was refused, and he is due before Bundaberg Magistrates Court on May 1.
