Roll up, roll up! FRINGE WORLD Festival open for 2024

Thousands of performers from comedy to cabaret will transform the State into a month-long carnival with the curtain set to lift on the 2004 FRINGE WORLD festival tomorrow.

FRINGE WORLD is the third largest Fringe Festival in the world in terms of ticket sales and runs until 18 February.

Bringing hundreds of thousands of people each year since starting in 2011, the festival is filled will joy and surprise and will delight audiences once again with comedy, cabaret, dance, circus and theatre performances.

This year's festival features more than 550 events and over 2,500 artists. Local WA artists feature alongside key international acts including brand new offerings "Bernie Dieter's Club Kabarett" straight from London's West End, "Fruits de la Passion" from New Caledonia and "Only Bones v1.9", a soundscape, acrobatics, clown and Kung Fu show by international artist Matt Pasquet.

FRINGE WORLD is kind to the hip pocket with the average ticket price only $32 and features 23 free events, including the FRINGE Sunday Funday on 21 January. This free community event will bring families together for a fun-filled day with live entertainment across two stages. Families will also be able to enjoy "Dinosaur Time Machine", giving people a chance to get up close and personal with a life-sized T-Rex.

The Cook Government has provided an additional $1.5 million through Lotterywest to support the 2024 FRINGE WORLD Festival, bringing the total support through Lotterywest for the 2024 festival to $2.7 million.

Additionally, the Cook Government has secured the future of FRINGE WORLD for another three years with a commitment of $2.9 million in new funding to enable the staging of the popular festival in 2025, 2026 and 2027.
