SVP Paula Agosto Joins Pennsylvania Hospital Association Board

Paula AgostoWe are thrilled to share that Paula Agosto, RN, MHA, Senior Vice President (SVP) & System Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), has joined The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2024.

HAP is a statewide services organization that represents over 230 hospitals and the patients and communities they serve. HAP's 28-member board is made up of healthcare leaders from across the commonwealth. The board sets the association's strategic direction and priorities related to fostering a robust hospital community and promoting access to high-quality care across the commonwealth, serving three-year terms.

Nicole Stalling, HAP President and CEO, stated, "I am proud to welcome Paula Agosto to HAP's Board of Directors. As an experienced nurse leader with a strong focus on pediatric care, Paula will inform and elevate HAP's priorities to grow and support the healthcare workforce and address the unique challenges of children's hospitals to support high-quality care for Pennsylvania's children."

Paula began her career at CHOP in 1985 as a staff nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Since 1996, Paula has assumed progressively responsible leadership roles, including Nurse Manager of the PICU, Director of Critical Care and Assistant Vice President of Critical Care, Respiratory and Neuro-diagnostic Services. In her current role, Paula provides oversight of more than 7,000 Nursing and Clinical Care Services (NCCS) staff, and is responsible for leading advancements in clinical practice, innovation and nursing research while supporting CHOP's commitment to exceptional patient and family-centered care.

In addition to her extensive leadership experience, Paula has led multiple cross-organizational improvement and operating plan initiatives, developed a novel NCCS Dashboard, written for multiple pediatric textbooks and manuals, given presentations across the country on pediatric nursing topics, and helped develop academic partnerships leading to innovations in preceptorship, clinical education and simulation.
