Trio charged with firearm offences after firing pellets in Werribee

Police have arrested three men after they allegedly used a gel blaster to fire pellets towards several people in the Werribee area last night.

Police received multiple reports of a black Mazda sedan driving around with the occupants allegedly firing pellets towards road workers and people at service stations between 9.30pm and 11pm.

Uniform police and highway patrol units responded and patrolled the area in search for the car.

Shortly after, officers located a car travelling on Cherry Street which matched the description at 11.05pm.

Police intercepted the car and arrested three men without incident.

A subsequent search of the vehicle located pellets and a loaded gel blaster in the rear of the vehicle.

Two men from Werribee, aged 22 and 23, and a 26-year-old man from Darley have been charged with prohibited person possess firearm.

The trio were bailed to appear before Werribee Magistrates' Court on 22 April 2021.

No one was injured during the incident.
