Two arrests after North Adelaide pursuit, SA

Two people have been arrested after a pursuit in North Adelaide this morning, according to SA Police.

Police will allege that at about 2.15am, a patrol attempted to stop a Holden sedan on Buxton Street when it sped away.

The sedan was pursued for several minutes, with extra patrols setting up cordons in the area. The car eventually stopped in Harrow Road at Northgate after it collided with a pole.

The driver, a 26-year-old Woodville West man was arrested and charged with engaging in a police pursuit, driving in a dangerous manner, driving unlicenced and breach of bail. He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

His passenger, a 23-year-old Elizabeth Downs man was arrested and charged with breach of bail and carry offensive weapon, after a knife was found in his possession. He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

A second passenger, a 30-year-old Davoren Park woman was reported for possessing prescription medication. She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
