UK Gov Seizes Six Horse Worming Medicines

A package containing horse medicines was identified by a courier company based at a depot in East Midlands Airport.

The package arrived from the USA containing medicine destined for a residential address in Reading.

The medicine was detained and subsequently seized by an inspector from the VMD.

The following medicine was seized:

  • 6 boxes (each containing 1 syringe) of Duramectin (Ivermectin Paste) 1.87% for horses

This anthelmintic product was intended for use in horses. The product listed is not authorised for use in GB or NI and was not accompanied by any relevant certification to permit their import.

The medicines were seized under Regulation 25 (Importation of unauthorised veterinary medicinal products) of the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013.
