Under jumper in Hastings

Hastings police are hoping to identify a man following a theft at a local bottle shop last week.

Investigators have been told a man entered the Church Street store about 3.50pm on 12 June.

He selected a bottle of scotch valued at $110 and placed it under his jumper.

A staff member was alerted to the situation by another customer, however when challenged the man denied having the bottle and left the store.

A quick review of the store CCTV confirmed their suspicions.

Investigators have released the CCTV of a man who they believe can assist with their enquiries.

The man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in his late teens, about 170cm tall with a slim build.

Anyone who recognises the man or has any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppervic.com.au.
