Update 4 – Homicide at Kelvin Grove, QLD

Detectives investigating the death of a 33-year-old man at Kelvin Grove on Friday are appealing for public assistance to locate important evidence believed to be dumped in the area.

The man's body was discovered at a Hunter Street address around 3pm on January 18.

Three men have since appeared in court charged with his murder.

Investigators are appealing for residents in the Kelvin Grove and Herston area to be on the lookout for a distinctive Ralph Lauren t-shirt (pictured) as well as footwear and a mask or balaclava which is believed to have been discarded after the incident.

Police and SES crews searched the area today, finding some pieces of evidence in a rubbish bin, yard and car port.

Detective Acting Inspector Chris Toohey appealed to residents to check their rubbish bins and properties to assist with the investigation.

"We are requesting residents in the Kelvin Grove and Herston areas to have a look in their yards and rubbish bins for any pieces of clothing which seem out of place," Detective Acting Inspector Toohey said.

"We understand tomorrow is rubbish bin collection day in the area, so we are making this appeal for residents to contact police if they come across either these items or anything suspicious."
