VBA Technical Bulletin - Plumbing

It's great to connect with you all again, in what is the first VBA Technical Bulletin of 2023.

We're set for another busy year ahead, as the industry grows and prepares itself for major change.

NCC 2022

National Construction Code (NCC) 2022 will be adopted by states and territories on 1 May 2023.

I encourage you all to familiarise yourselves with the Code ahead of its adoption by watching recordings of the VBA's NCC 2022 Roadshow webinars and heading to the ABCB website, where you can access the Code in full, as well as useful handbooks and guidance materials.

ABCB are also providing a series of articles that give an overview of some of the key changes and new requirements that may impact your work when NCC 2022 is adopted.

The VBA will continue to update Practice Notes in the lead-up to 1 May.

By getting across these changes, we can all work towards a safer, more accessible and more sustainable built environment.

Andrew Cialini,

VBA State Building Surveyor
