Wanted man arrested - Central Coast

Police have arrested a man wanted on outstanding warrants as investigations continue into a critical incident on the Central Coast last week.

A critical incident investigation, which is being led by detectives from the Homicide Squad, was established after a 37-year-old man died during a police operation at Hamlyn Terrace last Thursday (15 October 2020).

As part of the investigation, detectives from the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad were conducting inquiries into the whereabouts of a 46-year-old man, who was wanted on a number of outstanding warrants.

Following extensive inquiries, the man was arrested at a home on Willow Road, Springfield, about 6.30pm yesterday (Sunday 18 October 2020).

He was taken to Gosford Police Station, where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic), and two outstanding warrants.

The man was refused bail to appear at Gosford Local Court today (Monday 19 October 2020).

Investigations are into the critical incident are continuing.

All information will be provided to the Coroner who will determine the cause of death and make any findings about the events leading to the man's death.
