A woman will face court following investigations into a fire at Carlingford last month, NSW Police say.
About 2.40am on Saturday 19 November 2016, emergency services responded to reports of a fire in the backyard of a house in Eighth Avenue.
Two residents in the home were woken by the flames and were able to escape without injury; but the backyard and the rear of the home were damaged by the fire.
Police from Ryde Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the incident, which was deemed suspicious.
Following investigations, about 8.30am today, detectives attended a home in Freeman Place, Carlingford and arrested a 46-year-old woman.
A search warrant was also executed at the home and police seized several items for forensic analysis.
The woman was taken to Ryde Police Station and charged with intentionally recklessly damage / destroy property with intent to endanger life.
She was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court tomorrow.
