$25M Boost for Blue Mountains Hospital Design Plan

NSW Gov

The Minns Labor Government is delivering a boost to the future of Blue Mountains Hospital, with an additional $25 million investment as part of the 2026-27 NSW Budget to build facilities to meet the health care needs of the Blue Mountains community.

The Coalition failed to deliver or properly fund major hospital projects around NSW leaving parts of the state missing entire hospitals and health systems under severe pressure.

The Minns Labor Government is fixing this by delivering more hospitals and more beds to meet the health needs of growing communities.

This additional funding will support planning for the future Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital, including progressing site investigations, design and scoping to help shape the future of the hospital.

This funding builds on the Minns Labor Government's 2023 $25 million investment, to deliver essential upgrades to the existing Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital.

Works to upgrade the existing Blue Mountains Hospital are expected to be completed later this year and will deliver enhanced health facilities and improve the healthcare experience for staff, patients and the local community.

Upgrade works at Blue Mountains include:

  • the Emergency Department
  • Ambulatory Care,
  • Maternity services
  • Mental Health
  • Inpatient areas, and
  • Hospital infrastructure including roof repairs, air conditioning systems, and a new lift.

All works have been prioritised through consultation with hospital staff and clinicians, helping to improve service delivery and ensure minimal disruption to patients, visitors and staff.

Staff, stakeholders and the community will continue to be updated as planning and work progresses.
