About 2.30pm yesterday, Friday 16 October 2020, Police were notified of a missing woman in the Mount Augustus area.
The missing 74-year-old woman from the Perth metropolitan area, had gone for a quick 20 minute walk on the Edney's walk trail.
When she failed to return another visitor assisted in raising the alarm.
Carnarvon Police commenced an initial search of the trail and surrounds but did not locate the woman and the search was suspended until daylight today.
An AMSA Rescue Jet was deployed overnight to conduct a search of the area, however the woman was not located.
The search is continuing this morning with Police from Carnarvon, Meekatharra and Burringurrah, as well as DFES State Emergency Service volunteers from Carnarvon and Geraldton.
Other aircraft will be tasked to fly over the area.
