Arson investigation at Ormeau

Police have charged a man in relation to a fire at an industrial business in Ormeau on November 11.

It will be alleged the man broke into to the building around 9.40pm and damaged a number of electronics and machinery inside.

He then allegedly used an accelerant to light a fire at the address, before fleeing the scene.

Emergency crews arrived shortly afterwards to contain the blaze and a crime scene was established while investigations were conducted.

Today, November 12, police arrested a 53-year-old Yarrabilba man and charged him with enter premises with intent, wilful damage and arson.

Police bail was denied and he is expected to appear before the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on November 13.
