BreastScreenNT open in Alice Springs

Department of Health

BreastScreenNT is open for breast screening to the women of Central Australia until 3 July.

All women aged 50 to 74 years are encouraged to access this free service every two years.

"A screening only takes a few minutes and it could save your life," said Kim Coulter, Manager of Cancer Screening Services NT.

"Women in Alice Springs can make an appointment by coming into the office or by calling 13 20 50, and there is no need to have a doctor's referral to access this service," she said.

A second screening block of eight weeks will be held from 10 August to 2 October this year.

"If you are a regular screener and will be due for an appointment during this time, you will receive a letter from BreastScreen NT in July," Ms Coulter said.

All other appointments can be made from the beginning of August by phoning 13 20 50.

BreastScreenNT is located at Euripla House, Ground Floor, 25 Todd Mall, Alice Springs.
