Burglary with violence in Woodford, QLD

Police are investigating an incident in which a vehicle was stolen and a 27-year-old man was assaulted in Leichhardt Street, Woodford this morning, Queensland Police say.

Preliminary information suggests that around 10am, a 27-year-old man parked his vehicle in a carport and went inside his Leichhardt Street home.

On hearing a noise outside, the man went outside and saw an unknown male in his vehicle. He reached into the driver’s side window in an attempt to stop the vehicle, at which time the unknown male has produced a knife and cut the man on his arm.

The 27-year-old man then backed away from the vehicle, and the unknown male has fled the scene in the vehicle. The 27-year-old man sustained a minor injury to his right arm.

The vehicle is a white 2001 Holden Statesman, bearing Queensland Registration 061JFM.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen this vehicle or has any information in relation to this incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or the Moreton Criminal Investigation Branch.

Investigations are continuing.
