A community meeting will be held at the Alexandra Shire Hall on Monday 17 October 2022.
Local residents and businesses will be able to hear from emergency response and recovery agencies, support service partners and Council on the work that’s underway and the support services available.
The meeting will focus on immediate support for affected communities and plans for ongoing community recovery. It will cover information on Lake Eildon releases, relief for farmers, including emergency fodder and advice on deceased stock, emergency payments for flood affected residents and businesses, and Council will provide an update on the flooding situation in Thornton. We’ll also discuss advice on flood preparedness for the coming week, with further rains expected towards the end of next week.
Bookings are not required. For those who can’t attend in person, the meeting will be live streamed on Council’s Facebook page. A link to the live stream will provided on this page shortly.
