Council's boredom-busting September school holiday guide is available online and in print now, with plenty on offer to keep Townsville kids entertained.
The 24-page guide is chock full of low or no cost activities from local businesses, organisations and youth groups, featuring something for everyone these school holidays.
Community and Cultural Development Committee Chairperson Cr Ann-Maree Greaney said this handy guide was a one-stop-shop reference for kids, parents and caregivers and features 39 activities tailored for children and young adults up to 17 years of age.
"Our September school holiday guide is home to a diverse list of activities and we're confident there's something in there to interest kids of all ages," Cr Greaney said.
"Townsville is a growing city that promotes an inclusive and active community, so I'm thrilled we can produce a Guide like this to help all families make the most of the holidays.
"The Guide also has symbols beside each activity telling you if it's suited to early-childhood, primary, youth or all ages."
Printed copies of the guide are available at Citylibraries at Aitkenvale and Flinders Street. Copies are also available at the Visitor Information Centre in Flinders Square, the Community Information Centre in Flinders Street and at Council Customer Service currently located at 143 Walker Street.

One of the offerings in this edition include the free Kids Festival by PUFT Events at Peggy Banfield Park in Bushland Beach on Saturday 16 September 2023, which will feature Timmy the Train, food trucks, rides and face painting.
The guide also has information on puppetry workshops, a tree planting event, free science activities, youth yoga classes, skateboarding lessons, museum exhibitions and many more.
Local mother of two Felicity Boyd said the guide had an amazing variety of activities and would be a great tool for her and all parents and guardians to use these school holidays.
"It's really useful to have all this information available to us as parents, both in the printed version and online," she said.
"There's such a wide range of activities and they are all so different, so it's great that our children will be able to have their pick of what they want to do."
