COVID-19 fragments in local wastewater

COVID-19 fragments have been found in wastewater in some local and nearby suburbs including Burwood East, Glen Waverley and Wheelers Hill.

If you live in or have visited these suburbs please follow the advice from the Department of Health: monitor for any symptoms and get tested if any occur.

Symptoms of COVID-19 are similar to the flu and can include coughing, sneezing, runny nose, fatigue, and shortness of breath.

Other areas listed by the Department where the viral fragments were found include:

Forest Hill, Scoresby, Vermont South, Wantirna South, Blackburn, Blackburn North, Box Hill, Box Hill North, Doncaster, Doncaster North, Donvale, Mitcham, Mont Albert, Mont Albert North, Nunawading, Oak Park and Pascoe Vale.
