Help guide new Victorian Disability Plan

Hume residents are invited to contribute to Hume City Council's submission into the Victorian Government's new State Disability Action Plan 2021-24.

Mayor of Hume City, Councillor Carly Moore said Council is committed to ensuring every member of the community is able to fully participate in the community and fulfil their potential without unnecessary barriers.

"The Victorian Government is currently consulting on the new State Disability Action Plan and Council would like to include your views, thoughts and insights into Hume's submission," Cr Moore said.

"This is an opportunity to build a more inclusive community where everyone is afforded the opportunity to participate in social, civic and economic life. I encourage all residents to complete the brief online survey."

The Victorian Government has released a consultation paper and is asking a series of questions to help inform the plan. It is important to read the consultation paper as you answer the questions in the brief online survey but you do not have to respond to all of the questions in the survey.

Cr Moore said Council is keen to learn more about the circumstances that are most relevant to your life and work. This will assist with Council's submission to truly reflect the experiences of the community.

"By taking the time to participate you will be making a valuable contribution and Council will ensure your responses influence the State Government consultation process."
