Highway Patrol officer and five others injured in multiple car crash - Horsley Park

A NSW Police officer is among six men injured in a multiple vehicle crash on a Western Sydney motorway this afternoon.

Just after 3pm (Monday 29 June 2020), emergency services responded to reports of a multiple vehicle crash on the M7 at Horsley Park.

Police have been told the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command officer was standing next to his car after conducting a traffic stop when he and his vehicle were struck during a collision between four other vehicles.

The car that had been stopped by police was also hit during the crash.

The officer, aged in his 40s, suffered minor injuries to his back and was taken to Westmead Hospital.

Another five men suffered minor injuries and were also taken to hospitals for treatment and mandatory testing.

Officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
