HKU excels in RGC's latest funding exercise
The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is delighted to announce its success in securing significant funding from the Research Grants Council's (RGC) Areas of Excellence (AoE) Scheme, the Theme-based Research Scheme (TRS) and the Strategic Topics Grant for 2026/27.

Professor Stephanie Ma, Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) (Interim), HKU, expressed her encouragement upon the University's success in securing substantial funding under the three schemes. The significant funding awarded not only recognises our research excellence across pioneering fields spanning Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biological Sciences, Education, Psychology and beyond, but also reaffirms our leading position in global research and strengthens collaborations with institutions worldwide.
