20 Mai 2026
On 20 May, the roadmaps for the "High-Tech Agenda Germany" were published. These are the German government's strategic roadmaps for six prioritised key technologies, which are intended to strengthen Germany's competitiveness, value creation and sovereignty. The roadmaps define specific development and implementation pathways - ranging from artificial intelligence and quantum technologies to microelectronics, climate-neutral Energy, mobility and Biotechnology. Forschungszentrum Jülich is actively involved in the development and design of the High-Tech Agenda roadmaps.
In particular, Jülich contributes its research expertise in the fields of sustainable energy generation, Information Processing technologies and the Bioeconomy. Researchers and technical experts from the Forschungszentrum Jülich participate in partner dialogues, Strategy Processes and funding initiatives organised by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR).
In the field of digital Information Processing, Jülich is involved, amongst other things, in contributing to concepts for future quantum computers and their manufacture, chip design infrastructures, and AI applications for science and industry. With its expertise in technologies for a climate-neutral energy system, the Forschungszentrum Jülich is working, amongst other things, on the next generation of high-performance batteries and on the development of a future fusion power plant. Furthermore, the research centre is involved in biotechnology initiatives, such as AI-supported bioprocess development and sustainable solutions for the Bioeconomy and food systems.
Through its participation in the High-Tech Agenda for Germany, Forschungszentrum Jülich supports the goal of translating scientific findings more quickly into technological Innovations and societal benefits.
