Lake Set To Be Opened

MidCoast Council

Smiths Lake will be opened on Wednesday 28 October.

Boaters are strongly advised to remove their vessels from the lake prior to the opening to avoid the risk of stranding.

Once the manual opening is underway, boats left in the lake may become stranded due to the changes in water levels.

The area surrounding the opening will be closed to the public. Barriers will be installed to restrict access, and Council staff will be on-site to ensure public safety.

Please adhere to all instructions from Council staff and keep drones away from operating machinery.

For safety reasons all boat ramps and vehicular access to the beach will be closed during the opening. This is to prevent any potential hazards or accidents during the process.

Heavy machinery will be operating on the beach during the opening. No drones can operate in the vicinity of the opening at this time.

Residents and visitors are urged to stay clear of the area, follow all safety instructions, and monitor Council updates via the website and social media for the latest information.
