Nusa Dua, Bali, September 3, 2022 –
Closing the G20 Education Ministers' Meeting, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (MoECRT) involved the community in demonstrating gotong royong, or supporting each other to reach a common goal, and the diversity of culture to G20 delegates on Thursday (1/9).
Located at Museum Pasifika, the G20 delegates had the opportunity to enjoy works of art from Indonesia and around the world. The series of events began with a tour of the Museum Pasifika which exhibits more than 600 works of art. In particular, also exhibited works of art from the G20 countries.
As a form of community involvement in the G20 event, the MoECRT invited Sanggar Pancer Langiit, a partner of the MoECRT flagship program Emancipated Learning (Merdeka Belajar) to perform. Chair of the G20 Education Working Group (EdWG), Iwan Syahril said, "We know that many community-based arts studios (sanggar) had been suspended during the pandemic. Therefore, we should always support the opportunity for our children to come back and show their love for learning something, in this case, art."
Sanggar Pancer Langiit, which includes students from early childhood education to higher education, presented a performance that tells the traditions of the Kapal, Badung Regency community in working together to face a pandemic.
The performance was closed with the participation of the head of G20 delegates in lempar tipat bantal, a tradition that has been passed down for generations as a token of gratitude to the universe.
