Police appeal after pedestrian death at Doonside

Police are appealing for information following the death of a man after he was hit by a car in Doonside last month.

About 5.45pm on Tuesday 16 June 2020, a 72-year-old man was hit by a white Toyota Prado while crossing at a roundabout on Bungarribee Road.

Officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command attended, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics, who treated the man before he was conveyed to Westmead Hospital, with critical injuries. He later died in hospital.

The Toyota driver, a 36-year-old man, was tested at the scene and returned a negative result. He was taken to Blacktown Hopsital for mandatory testing.

As the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue, police are urging witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage, to come forward.
