Police charge man with filming women without consent at Avoca Beach

A man has been charged with multiple offences after allegedly filming women without their consent on the Central Coast.

On 17 May 2021, officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District received a complaint from a woman who alleged a man had filmed an intimate act without her consent.

Following the complaint, police executed a search warrant at a home on The Round Drive, Avoca Beach, on 20 May 2021.

As a result of the search, officers seized two mobile phones to be forensically examined.

Following inquiries, about 8am on Tuesday 8 June 2021, officers attached to the Brisbane Water Domestic Violence Unit attended a home on The Round Drive, Avoca Beach and arrested a 44-year-old man.

He was taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with film person in private act without consent (five counts), intentionally distribute intimate image without consent (two counts), and do act intending to pervert the course of justice.

The man was refused bail and attended Gosford Local Court on Tuesday 15 June, where he was given conditional bail to reappear at the same court on Friday 9 July 2021.

Inquiries are continuing.
