Police lay charges after aggravated break and enter - Chifley

A man will face court today charged with an alleged aggravated break and enter in the state's Central West on the weekend.

Between 8.30am and 9.45am on Sunday 15 November 2020, a man entered a unit on Kendal Street, Cowra.

Police have been told that the man allegedly stole items and assaulted the occupant, a 65-year-old woman, before fleeing.

The woman suffered facial bruising and swelling.

Detectives from Chifley Police District attended and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, officers arrested a 36-year-old man at Cowra Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-use violence, and breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear at Cowra Local Court today (Tuesday 17 November 2020).
