Police lay charges after Bellarine Peninsula burgs

Police from Geelong's Tasking and Crime Intervention Taskforce have arrested and charged a man with almost 50 offences following a string of alleged burglaries on the Bellarine Peninsula.

It is alleged the 11 burglaries occurred from March up until June, in and around the Portarlington and Indented Head areas.

Yesterday investigators arrested a 22-year-old Portarlington man, he was charged with 48 offences including:

• Aggravated burglary;

• Arson;

• 11 counts of burglary;

• Two counts of attempted burglary;

• Nine counts of theft;

• 11 bail offences;

• 11 counts of criminal damage; and

• Two offences relating to drugs.

He was remanded in custody and appeared in Geelong Magistrates' court this morning.
