Police seek information after police vehicle rammed; officer injured at Broken Hill

Police are appealing for information after an officer was injured in the state's far west.

About 9.45pm on Friday (13 November 2020), officers attached to Barrier Police District attempted to stop a Mitsubishi Magna on Chapple Lane at Broken Hill.

The driver reversed, before crashing into a brick fence and stalling the car.

As officers got out of the police vehicle, the Mitsubishi drove forward and collided with their vehicle, jamming the door closed onto an officer, before driving off.

The injured officer was taken to Broken Hill Hospital by ambulance for treatment to minor lacerations and bruising. He has since been released.

As inquiries continue, police appeal for anyone with information, including dashcam or CCTV footage, to contact local police.
