Police seek information on Suspicious bushfire - Acacia Hills

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to a suspicious bushfire.

The fire was reported to Bushfires NT around 11:30am on Tuesday 16 June 2020. It occurred outside a business on Acacia Gap Road. Fortunately, employees immediately attended and extinguished the fire.

Serious Crime Squad detectives and a fire investigator from Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and determined the fire to be suspicious.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Jak Evans of the Serious Crime Squad said, "As the fire season is upon us, the risks that uncontrolled fires pose to the community is severe. Any person who intentionally causes a bushfire without authorisation has potentially committed an offence that is punishable by 15 years imprisonment. If you see suspicious behaviour, please contact police or Crime Stoppers. If there is immediate danger, phone 000".
