Council is aware of concerns regarding odour being emitted from the SBI inert landfill in Ballarto Road, Cranbourne.
The SBI Inert Landfill in Cranbourne is owned and managed by Stevensons Brothers Industries (SBI), with the site's operating license overseen by the Victorian Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
When Council was first alerted to the odour issues, which are stemming from gases produced by landfill materials breaking down, we immediately notified EPA of the issue.
Council is liaising closely with the EPA to ensure they are aware of the community's concerns and that the site adheres to permit regulations.
