Second woman dies after being hit by car at Camperdown

A second woman has died after being hit by a car at Camperdown yesterday.

About 1.30pm (Saturday 4 July 2020), emergency services were called to Grose Street after two women were hit by a car.

Both women – aged 62 and 85 – were taken to nearby Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, however the younger woman died a short time later.

This afternoon (Sunday 5 July 2020), the 85-year-old woman died in hospital.

The driver, a 69-year-old man, was arrested and taken to hospital to undergo mandatory tests.

Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
