Serving up major funding for Paramount tennis club in Dubbo

NSW Nationals

The Dubbo region's future aces will have access to courts that rival the best in the country, thanks to a significant investment by the NSW Nationals in the state government.

Nationals Member for Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders said Paramount Tennis Club has received $227,174 from the Stronger Country Communities Fund to renew its courts in Dubbo.

"The NSW Nationals are committed to making sure regional communities have access to facilities that are just as good as those in metropolitan areas, and that's exactly what this funding will do," Mr Saunders said.

"We want to make sure the Ash Bartys and Alex de Minaurs of the future have the best chance to reach their potential.

"This funding will make sure Paramount's courts are as good as any regional facility in NSW and across Australia."

Paramount Tennis Club president Andrew Kierath welcomed the funding.

"The Paramount Tennis Club committee works proactively with all our stakeholders, including the NSW Government, to improve and maintain the facilities for the benefit of our members and social players," Mr Kierath said.

"This is a massive game changer for the club and by extension tennis in Dubbo and the wider community.

"This kind of support for a not-for-profit community club is absolutely massive and shores up our short and long-term future."

Round Five of the Stronger Country Communities Fund is supporting local community and sporting infrastructure projects, street beautification, public programs and events that display the best of local character and community spirit.

The Stronger Country Communities Fund is part of the NSW Government's $3.3 billion Regional Growth Fund, designed to support growing regional centres, activate local economies and improve services and community infrastructure in the regions.
