South Hedland incident

Police are investigating an incident that occurred in South Hedland on Monday 6 July 2020.

About 10pm, Police and St Johns Ambulance were called to Kennedy Street, following a traffic collision in which a man had been seriously injured.

A damaged black and red coloured mobility scooter, believed to belong to the man was located nearby. (Attached photo if of a similar mobility scooter to the one involved in the incident).

The man in his 30s was conveyed by ambulance to the Hedland Heath Campus for treatment, however died from his injures.

During inquiries, police located a light blue Holden Commodore, that is believed to be linked to an address in Kennedy Street. The Commodore had sustained significant front-end damage to the bumper, wing mirror and windscreen.

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who heard or saw an altercation, or who saw the man on his mobility scooter or the Holden Commodore in the area prior to the crash.
